bums and stuff

Ok, so I had to take my daughter to get her Xmas gifts from a family member today and I decided to take a trip to Target.
I wanted to purchase a dry erase board to work with Anna on...she is home schooled now so I wanted to purchase one instead of wasting so much paper plus it's good for her to learn how to take notes.
Anyways, back to my story. I was in my car at a traffic light near a bus stop and I saw a bum walking up the street looking in cars...nothing new there they all try to get money almost on every street corner..it's pretty bad. I saw this woman look at the guy in the car next to mine. She motioned to him to have him roll his window down...they talked for about 20 seconds and the emerged with a cigarette....yes, she really bummed a cigarette from a guy in this car in front of me...she did not need a light though because she still had a cigar lit so she used that to light the cigarette.....I am sure that she bummed that cigar also.
I can't believe that the guy actually gave it to her...maybe I am just stuck up...no I am not really stuck up I am just sick of all the begging....it gets old really quick!
I am sitting here on the computer and I should be getting Anna's work together for tomorrow but I decided to take a break and share with you a little piece of my day.

Wow, that's a lot of bummin'! I live in a very rural area in VA & it's always a shock to me when we go to Roanoke or home to Massachusetts for vacation, to see bums & homeless people- they are here too but because we're so rural you don't see them on the streets etc.
Michele sent me to check out your cool pictures etc.

Here in London, almost every major intersection has someone sitting on the median with a sign - "hungry" or something like that. Thing is, they have nicer shoes than I do.

As a parent, security comes first. I drive with my doors locked, and I won't let anyone approach my vehicle.

What ticks me off is many of them HAVE homes. They simply do the "begging" thing because they make more per hour doing that than they would at a real job. Depressing.

Oh, I wrote about this - complete with picture - just last week. Check the shoes:
