accident

I know I said that I needed something to write about and I was debating on if I should post this or not but I have decided that I should sharethis.

It was about 10:00pm and I was on my way back home from the gym. I must of missed the accident by about a minute or two. I knew that something bad had happened because they completely closed off both sides of the road.I saw the article in the paper and it makes me sick to my stomach. It is hard for me to pass that road with out my stomach getting into a knot. The father was drunk and did not yield to traffic. His children should have been in a seatbelt and they would still be here. This is just careless! How could someone be so selfish. Why would the mother of these children get in the car with him knowing that he was drinking?!? The fault is on her also. What did these two adults let the children be in that car with no seatbelt...let's not even get into the fact that they should have been in a car seat.

I couldn't get into the article, but it sounds similar to something that happened to me in highschool. My boyfriend's mom was driving us home and I forgot something in his house. I ran to get it and continued home...An accident had just happened when we were almost there...a drunk driver had swerved over from the opposite side of the road and killed the driver in front of us...the accident was only minutes old. I went home and called 911...had I remembered my purse..it would've been us..not only were we not wearing seatbelts...but the passenger seat was pushed forward in front of me so I could fit in the backseat. I would've been dead for sure. I normally wear my seatbelt..but wasn't for some reason that night. Now every time I get into a car and think about not wearing one...I think about that night. Karma...thanks for sharing ;0) Take what you can from that and hold onto it...it may save your life one day.

It really is sad. There are stuffed animals flowers where the accident happened.

I always wear my seatbelt. I feel naked with out it on.

this happens way to much! I guess all I can about what happend is learn a lesson and move on. They said that the kids would still be alive if they were wearing seatbelts.

thanks for the comment. The driver with the kids in the car was drunk and did get away better than anyone else in his car. He was out of the hospital the same night.

seeingdouble~
you put that well!

nick~
The saddest part is that the drunk driver had all those kids in the car with hima nd the mother still let him drive.

P.S.~ I found yours because you posted on mine.
